About me:
Dr. Maria Cristina Munteanu obtained her Ph.D. degree in 2007 from the University of Bucharest, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Romania. After a brief stint as a Lecturer at the University of Bucharest, Romania, she joined Oklahoma State University as a Research Associate in 2010. She is currently working in Lung biology and Toxicology Lab. as a Research Associate. Her current research is focused on understanding the role of Transferrin and Iron in lung pulmonary fibrosis. 

Research interests:

microRNA, long non-coding RNA in macrophage polarization and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), role of iron in IPF, long non-coding RNA in cancer – immunotherapy, role of extracellular matrix proteoglycans and inflammation in polycystic kidney and liver disease.
