Farewell, Welcome and Celebration

February, 2017

A LBTL party was held in Brumley Community Center, Stillwater on February 24th, 2017 at 6 pm onwards to say farewell to Dr. Cristina Munteanu and Mr. Xiangming Zeng, to welcome a new member, Mr. Dao Xu, and to celebrate the success of a R01 grant application. Cristina joined to LBTL in February 2016 as a Research Associate and was working on M1/M2 macrophages. Xiangming was a visiting graduate student from China and joined LBTL in September 2014. He worked on miRNA and TGF-β mediated fibroblast activation associated with Idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis. LBTL members delivered the appreciation and gratitude towards both of them for their contributions to LBTL. The departure of both of them will be a great miss to LBTL, but memories of them will stay with LBTL always. As a group of LBTL, we wish them success and prosperous with their future endeavors.

Dao is a new Ph.D. student and joined LBTL in January, 2017. Dao received his B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China and was transferred from University of Macau to our program.
LBTL just heard a good news that a NIH R01 grant from LBTL received a fundable score. This grant will provide a stable funding for IPF group to study role of long non-coding RNAs in IPF.
LBTL members and families participated in this event and made it delightful with delicious food and some fun activities. It was not only a party, but also a great moment to cherish.
